With 2018 in full-swing, let’s make sure we keep our New Year’s resolution to improve our skin. Perhaps you suffer from acne, or maybe dry skin, or maybe you just want to get that healthy glow back. Whatever the case, here are some skincare tips to implement in the coming year.
- Condition with jasmine: Containing loads of antioxidants, jasmine extract happens to be an ultra-soothing oil.
- Exfoliate the right way: No, you don’t have to scrub harder, just longer. Deep exfoliation to slough off dead skin cells can be achieved through gentler scrubbing for an increased period of time.
- Guard against moisture loss: To soothe the redness from your skin, try aloe vera juice with a few drops of jojoba oil. This is a great lipid barrier that keeps moisture in.
- Don’t drink as much alcohol: You may not realize it, but all that alcohol you’ve been drinking this holiday season can boost oil production and cause enlarged pores. Same effects with lack of sleep! So get those zzzz’s too. Shoot for about seven hours per night.
- Use a moisturizer with SPF 30 at least: Make sure you get a lightweight version that won’t go on greasy. This will keep you protected throughout the year when you step outside – not just in the summer. The winter’s rays are just as harmful!
- Eat pomegranates: Get 25 percent more sun protection for your skin when you eat pomegranates. Make is easier on yourself and simply take 60 mg of pomegranate-extract supplement.
- Try home remedies for pimples: Before you go out and spend a ton of money on store-bought products, first try hot compresses on and off, then apply one percent hydrocortisone cream, which works to reduce the redness and bumps.
- Stay away from heat: If you’re prone to redness (which is caused by broken capillaries), steer clear of spicy foods, along with saunas and steam rooms.
- Use a humidifier: This isn’t just good when you’re sick. Use a humidifier year round to keep your skin hydrated.
- Carry wipes with you: Oil-free makeup-remover towelettes come in handy when you’re on the go. If you can’t stop home after the gym or a long day of work, wipe your face with a towelette to get a much-needed refresh and remove your makeup for fresh application.
- Prepare for sleep: Nighttime is when your skin gets a chance to rest and rejuvenate. Prep for sleepy time by keeping all the necessary supplies at your bedside table: lip balm, cuticle oil, hand cream, foot cream, and sleep mask.
- Use Scarfade for cuts, scrapes and burns: When your skin is damaged and a possibility of a scar looms, apply Scarfade as directed to reduce the appearance of scarring. You’ll find Scarfade at your local drug store!
